The Academy Is… just announced headline dates during their summer tour with KISS. These will all be really small shows and tickets will go on sale next week!

my literal reaction to this was:

YESSSS!!!….. no!! gAH. DAMMIT! haha

I haven’t seen The Academy Is.. since I saw them for the first time in November 2005 opening for The All-American Rejects at the Zippo Hot Tour. Actually, I had never heard of them or anything before that day. After seein em at the show, I checked out their myspace, and downloaded a couple songs.. then their whole album.. then got their 2nd album.. and now they’re on their third.. and I STILL haven’t seen them again when I actually know all the words to all their songs now.

I REALLY wanna see em.. but I don’t wanna pay 40-whatever dollars to see them open for KISS, and probably be really far away because I’m poor. I asked my dad if he would go, since he likes/used to listen to KISS, but he said he doesnt really wanna go to a KISS show. So I’m holding out for a headliner. I also missed their free show at Bucknell, which is my friends school, cuz I found out last second and I had to work!

I’m glad they are doing headlining shows in between, though. I am so excited for them to be touring with KISS.. just as excited as I was for Paramore to tour with No Doubt.. but just like with Paramore & No Doubt.. KISS is definitely a diff demographic audience than The Academy Is. Though I am aware TAI is playing mostly stuff off of SANTI since that is their more aggressive album.. haha.

Anywho.. unfortunately none of these shows are anywhere relatively near me, so it looks like I will be waiting for the next tour!!! Have a great summer, TAI! I’ll see you boys around next time :)
